The biggest challenge of international conferences is to facilitate smooth communication among participants who speak different languages, especially in the case of professional, business- related or technical subject matter. In this case study, we perform language support for a multi lingual conference with participants from different countries.
The case
During a multi-day international conference, presenters and participants from many countries took part in a common event. The aim of the organizers was for every participant to be able to follow the presentations and ask questions in their own language so that they could be actively involved into the program. This required the involvement of professional simultaneous interpreters.
Our solution
After our quote was accepted, we began organizing the interpreting for the event. Our client was a large international company, and they needed interpretation in six language pairs on all three days of the conference. The source language was English, and the interpreters translated to German, French, Spanish, Hungarian, Romanian and Japanese. The topic of the presentations was environmental protection and energetics. The venue was in Budapest, Hungary.
Our company assigned experienced interpreters in every language combination who worked in pairs in interpreters’ booths during the entirety of the conference. We also provided all necessary technical equipment : interpreters’ booths, earphones, sound systems and technical supervision. Before the event, our interpreters familiarized themselves with the professional content of the field topic with the help of materials, presentation documents and glossaries that were requested from the client in advance. As a result, the entire process went smoothly and free from language barriers, assuring a really nice experience for the audience.
This solution guaranteed not only the success of the conference but also contributed to providing real value to every audience member, regardless of what language they spoke.
