Online Interpreting
A modern and flexible solution for remote events
The best solution for online conferences, webinars and international meetings
How does it work?
Interpreting is processed using specific software that provides a separate audio channel for the original speech and other channels for the interpretation.
We always recommend and/or provide the appropriate online platform that best fits the event.
Required equipment
Participants can follow the live interpreting using a PC or smartphone app with earphones, using Teams, Zoom or any other platform created for online interpreting.
Advantages
- No need for physical presence, highly flexible
- Cost-effective compared to conventional interpreting since interpreters needn’t travel to the site
- Available on PC, Mac or smartphone
Disadvantages
- Appropriate software and a stable internet connection are needed
- The sound quality depends on the technical equipment; there are cheap solutions that are less reliable, and high-quality systems that are more expensive

When should I choose online or hybrid interpreting?
When participants of an event are geographically distant from each other, or just a few of them can be present on site, online or hybrid interpreting enables them to join and follow the program in their own language.
Online interpreting is especially useful in the following cases:
- International group meetings, strategic reconciliations
- Hybrid corporate events (e.g. annual assessments)
- Online training sessions, workshops, learning sessions
- Webinars, press conferences, investigation presentations
- Legal, financial or technical reconciliations where you need quick and accurate language transmission
For online events, we primarily recommend simultaneous interpreting, especially when dealing with multiple language pairs. But for a short discussion, consecutive interpreting is applicable as well.
Platforms we work with
The key to success is a reliable technical background. Many software and combinations thereof work well, so making your choice will depend on the level of quality, function and cost-effectiveness you’d like to achieve.
Video and audio transmission devices that have one platform for everything:
- Qonda, Olyusei, Interactio, Clevercast – professional platforms developed specifically for interpreting (payment required)
- Zoom vagy Microsoft Teams with interpreting plugin – simpler integration, reliable but connected to license (payment required)
- Microsoft Teams + LiveVoice – participants listen to the interpreting on their smartphone using an application, simultaneously with the presentation
We will help you find the proper platform for your event and, according to your request, arrange for all necessary technical equipment, including choosing the platform, testing its performance and supervising its operation during your event.
How does online interpreting work?
Every participant – the presenter, the audience and the interpreter – connects to a chosen online platform. The platform must enable live sound- and video transmission as well as the separate soundtracks required for interpreting. The audience chooses their requested language on their tool (laptop, tablet or smartphone) so that they can follow the event smoothly in real time.
The interpreters, who also join online, work in pairs for each language combination and take turns performing simultaneous interpreting, just as they would in an interpreters’ booth at an on-site event.
The participants join via smartphone and listen to the interpreting with their own earphones, so there is no need for special equipment on site.

I know that I need an interpreter, but I have no idea what kind of service I need – could you please help me?
Of course! For quick information, please use our Interpreting Assistant, or contact us via email or phone. Our colleagues are ready to help you!
Can you provide an interpreter in any language?
Yes, we can offer you a qualified interpreter almost in every language combination. Please ask for a quote via email or phone.
What about the price? Is it charged per hour?
In most cases, our interpreters work for a daily fee – or a half-day fee if the task does not exceed 4 hours per day. We apply an hourly rate for short interpretation tasks when the interpreter is not required to travel or when the process occurs via phone or online.
Both daily and hourly prices can differ depending on the language pairing and whether the project requires field specialization , so we kindly ask you to request an individual quote.
I am organizing a large conference with a lot of participants from abroad. Can you help me with interpretation?
Yes! Let us know the date and location of the event, the language pairs (e.g. English-German), the approximate number of participants and whether you will need interpretation equipment (e.g. Interpreting booth).
Workers from abroad will arrive to repair a machine on our site and we need an interpreter. Can you help?
Of course! We have excellent interpreters with technical skills who can help you on site with language transmission, regardless of the technical field.
I’m organizing an event which will be held at an on-site venue, but a few participants will join online. Can your provide interpretation for both audiences?
We are experienced in so-called hybrid (on-site and online) interpretation. Typically, we handle these projects primarily using online interpretation.
Online interpreting can be listened to and followed both online and on-site with the help of interpretation equipment and / or online tools and applications. Contact us with your needs and we will tailor a solution!
Our company will hold an online seminar and we’d like our foreign colleagues to follow the presentation as well. Do you have a service for this?
Of course! Your colleagues from abroad can easily listen to the simultaneous interpretation using an application on their PC or phone.
What is the deadline for booking interpreters for an event?
Most of our interpreters are busy and often scheduled for events weeks or months ahead of time. To ensure we can provide you with the best service, we kindly recommend you place your order at least 2-3 months prior to the event.
What if my event is coming up soon? Am I out of time?
Naturally, we are ready to help you to book an interpreter on a shorter timeline as well., But remember: the earlier you book the service – especially for large events or projects with multiple language pairs – the better your chance of securing our most appropriate experts.
I need an interpreter for a task outside Hungary. Can you help?
For projects abroad, we determine whether it is worth asking one of our interpreters to travel to the target country, or if it would be better to assign a local interpreter there. In the case of foreign travel, the client bears the travel, accommodation and boarding expenses of the interpreter in addition to their daily fee .
Can I secure an interpreter for multiple days who can accompany me to several venues?
Of course! Please advise us on the dates, the venues and the desired language pair in your quote request. We are ready to provide you with an individual offer according to your needs.
How can I help the interpreter to best fulfill their task?
All relevant information about your project helps the interpreter to deliver the best possible result. For you, this means that providing relevant documents and references ahead of time will is a great way to assist in making the project a success.
And remember: not all events are the same! Our interpreter will not arrive to a gala event on stage the same way they would to an on-boarding session on a factory floor. Please inform the interpreter about appropriate dress code for the event ahead of time!
